GEOSPHERE – CHANGE OF
OWNERSHIP
Mac Beggs is pleased
to announce the sale of Lower Hutt consulting firm GeoSphere Ltd to Tom Loutit
and partners, effective 28 May 2010.
GeoSphere was founded
in 1997 and has been a significant source of expertise for oil and gas
exploration in New Zealand, and related energy and resource sector
projects. The business was put up for
sale late last year when the owner and Managing Director, Mac Beggs, took up
the position of Exploration Manager for client company New Zealand Oil &
Gas Ltd.
Tom is also
Managing Director of FrOG Tech, an Australian-based natural resources
consultancy that provides geological, geophysical and information management
services for a wide range of clients in the petroleum, groundwater, coal, and mineral
sectors (www.frogtech.com.au). FrOG Tech is a world-leader in the delivery of
structural and tectonic interpretation, basin analysis and other
resource-related geological services.
The company was founded in 2004 and is based in Canberra, Australia with
offices in Newcastle and Hobart.
There are obvious
synergies between GeoSphere and FrOG Tech that Tom will be keen to exploit in
the coming years. FrOG Tech staff are keen to work with GeoSphere to expand the
range of services particularly in structural geology, gravity and magnetics
gradiometry processing and interpretation, petroleum systems analysis from
regional to permit scale. Although a completely new company, GeoSphere will
continue to trade as GeoSphere and work closely with the petroleum sector
(government and industry) in New Zealand.
GeoSphere will
continue to service New Zealand clients from its offices at 33 Waterloo Rd,
Lower Hutt.
